Exterior Detail
Bring Out the Best in Your Vehicle
A professional exterior detail is about much more than a clean, shiny car. It removes contaminants that ordinary washing leaves behind, restores depth and clarity to the paint, and helps protect the vehicle’s finish from everyday exposure. For 38 years, In Great Detail has provided professional auto detailing for West Chester-area drivers who care about the appearance and condition of their vehicles. Every Exterior Detail combines proven techniques, professional-grade products, and meticulous attention to detail to achieve a finish that looks exceptional and is properly protected.
It Starts with a Thorough Cleaning
Every Exterior Detail begins with meticulous cleaning of the wheel faces and barrels. Each wheel is rotated 180 degrees and cleaned again to ensure areas that are difficult to reach aren’t overlooked.
Specialized products are then applied to the exterior and carefully worked across the surface to remove bugs, sap, tar, and other contaminants from the paint.
Attention is also given to the areas that are easily missed during an ordinary car wash. Debris is removed from beneath the windshield wipers, door jambs cleaned, the gas door, rocker panels, and wheel well liners are thoroughly cleaned.
A Complete Process for a Better Finish
Preparing the Paint
Once the initial cleaning is complete, a clay bar treatment is applied to the painted surfaces to remove embedded contaminants and create a smooth finish. The vehicle then receives a final hand wash to remove any remaining residue and prepare the paint for correction and polishing.
Restoring Depth, Clarity and Shine
Paint correction begins with compounding and polishing to address scratches and imperfections, followed by polishing to refine the finish.
In Great Detail takes the process a step further with a second polishing pass, using specialized pads, professional products and equipment to help eliminate swirl marks and restore the depth, richness and shine of the vehicle’s paint.
Chrome accents are polished, rubber trim is cleaned, and tires are dressed to complete the freshly detailed appearance.
Protection for the Finish
Once the paint has been cleaned and polished, the appropriate finishing protection is applied. Options include 100% carnauba wax, synthetic paint sealant, or ceramic coating for lasting protection and shine.
Interior and exterior glass is also thoroughly cleaned for a clear, streak-free finish.
The Final Details Matter
Before any vehicle is returned to its owner, the completed Exterior Detail undergoes separate inspections by In Great Detail management and ownership.
This additional level of quality control helps ensure the work meets the standards In Great Detail has established over nearly four decades of professional auto detailing.
Exterior Detail Pricing
Exterior Detailing starts at $275, with final pricing based on vehicle size and condition.

No reason to look anywhere else. First of all, my kids completely destroyed the interior of my car with food, crayons, you name it. The leather on the doors were stained with god knows what. In Great Detail made my car look brand new. Not only that but they were super easy to deal with and accommodating. Highly recommend!
